In 2021 the Kenai Watershed Forum catalogued regional management plans in regards to water quality, zoning, and other aspects that are important to fish habitat on the Kenai Peninsula. The purpose of this was to create one database where information was easily accessible and searchable for anyone with questions or concerns about some of policies and recommendations steering management actions. Below are the seven regional plans looked at, as well as the document that was produced with all the information gathered. This project was funded by Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Partnership funds.
Kenai River Comprehensive Management Plan
Published in 1997 by the Kenai River Special Management Area Advisory Board is the basis for management of state land within the Kenai River Special Management Area.
City of Kenai Comprehensive Management Plan (Imagine 2030)
Published in 2016 by the City of Kenai. Imagine Kenai 2030 is meant to guide the city to meet various goals for the community and enhance citizens’ quality of life.
City of Soldotna Comprehensive Plan (Envision 2030)
Published in 2011 by the City of Soldotna. Envision 2030 guides the city in future growth and development, states goals, objectives, and criteria for this growth.
Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Partnership Strategic Plan
Published in 2010 by the Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Partnership, the KPFHP Strategic Plan and Conservation Action Plans set forth goals and objectives created by the collective thinking of partnership members.
