The 2023 Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Science Symposium took place on April 20-21 at the Kenai Visitor Center. This year’s symposium was co-hosted by the Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (KP-CISMA). Professionals from around the Kenai Peninsula gathered to share project updates, fill information gaps, promote resource sharing, and generate new ideas. Remarkably, this marked the first in-person event since 2019 for the KPFHP, which has been hosting the symposium biennially since 2010.
Over 100 participants heard 28 technical presentations on various aspects of fish habitat, such as proactive conservation, water quality, invasive species, outreach, historical and social-ecological perspectives, and more. The symposium featured a keynote address by Dr. Peter Westley from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Presentations from the 2023 Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Science Symposium are now available to view.
